	It is *Our Mission* to encourage awareness of the coral reef environment, by bringing it closer to those who might not otherwise be able to witness its beauty and begin to understand its importance to each and every one of us.

We are committed to preserving coral reefs world-wide, so that current and future generations may continue to explore the wonders, enjoy the beauty of , and most importantly, begin to better understand this most fragile and complex ecosystem, it’s connection to our beginnings and it’s undeniable link to our future on this planet. We are just seeing the tip of the iceberg. The implications and potential that marine organisms and environments may unlock vast revelations in medical science, geology, biology, and human evolution, implore us to act and help to preserve this vast potential resource.


	*FACT:*

Over ten percent of the worlds coral reefs have been lost already, an additional twenty five to fifty percent could be lost over the next twenty five years, within our lifetime.

At the current rate, our grandchildren may never see a living coral reef.


	It is only through awareness and involvement that any problem can ever be solved.

The primary goal of the Adopt-a-Reef program is to foster long term, environmental change through early education and involvment. Founded around the simple idea that each and every person not only can but does make a difference, each and every day, in the things that they do and decisions that they make, and that those who are better informed make better decisions.

It is the information that is the key.

Since our humble beginnings, with classroom slide presentations that met with the wide-eyed awe and enthusiasm of inquisitive children, we have strived to bring a glimpse of this wondrous world, both of its beauty and importance, to those who will truly inherit the stewardship of this planet. To foster their sense of awe and curiousity, and instill in them the knowledge that they can, and do make a difference, and that we all play an integral role in shaping the future.
